In August 2015, Mayor Michael Hancock, launched a citywide partnership with leadership at Denver Public Schools, a host of charter schools and community organizations to make the statement: Denver has prioritized diversifying our educator workforce. We are committed to addressing the inequities in our system. Hiring and retaining more educators of color are both key to the overall strategy.

The Make Your Mark Denver campaign is a collaboration between the Denver Mayor’s office, Denver Public Schools, and Denver-based charter management organizations to accelerate efforts around the recruitment and retention of teachers and leaders of color.

The Idea Marketing assisted in this campaign by doing a marketing research, evaluation, geo-targeting analysis and social media messaging, plan, and account activation. Additionally, we executed a digital campaign with whitelist and Facebook ads. Finally, we did editorial pieces, website ads, online postings, grasstops and grassroots strategies in Puerto Rico to spread the word on these opportunities.
