The Colorado Department of Education hired The Idea Marketing, in partnership with another communications firm in town, to promote parental engagement among Colorado’s parents by using the Colorado Growth Model and, a tool that helps parents understand the academic performance of their children and the school they are attending.  

In an effort to discover barriers for engagement and what information they need to help their children succeed, we conducted focus groups with parents across the state.  Our objective was to identify key insights on how parents and community members use and access information regarding public education, school and student performance.  

Then, we organized informational family meetings and educational workshops to show parents the tools that can help them become their child’s most powerful advocate.
